Oh my gosh! LOVE these two!! Megan and Andrew were an absolute dream to work with throughout the whole wedding process! They are both so kind and super laid back and they made us feel like we were part of the family! They were married at the end of September at the beautiful Highgrove Estate in Fuquay-Varina. Megan could not have been any more stunning in her sleek yet simple wedding gown, it was almost as if it was designed just for her! Andrew looked pretty dapper as well in his custom blue suit so together, these two were MAGIC!! Enjoy a few of our faves!!
Going into our 10th year photographing weddings, we have seen our fair share of amazing weddings but the experience of Kait and Emmitt’s wedding was truly one for the books! Kait and Emmitt traveled with their closest family and friends to Riviera Maya, Mexico for their destination wedding last month at the beautiful all-inclusive resort of Generations Resort by Karisma. We had the extreme honor of being asked to accompany them on this trip of a lifetime to document their destination wedding and the beginning of their lives together. What made this trip super special to us, is that Dave and I were married almost 11 years ago about 15 minutes to the north at the Moon Palace Resort and Spa. Just being back in Riviera Maya and Cancun brought back so many amazing memories for us, but to be there to witness another couple experiencing all of those same feelings we had back then as we walked across the sand in our wedding clothes, it was pretty special!!
Kait and her girls got ready over at the sister resort next door at the El Dorado Royale Resort. The girls sipped on mimosas as they got ready for the beautiful day ahead. I loved getting to watch Kait’s mom gaze at her lovingly from across the room as she watched her little girl get ready for her big day. As a mom, I am sure she sat there wondering how this day had arrived so soon! After the girls were ready, we headed out to the beach for some bridesmaid’s photos and photos of the beautiful bride. Next, we headed over to Generations to meet up with the Emmitt and his groomsmen where we arrived to find a room full of dapper gentlemen! After a quick toast on the balcony, we headed back to the beach for some fun with the dudes!
Once the pictures wrapped up, it was time to get set up for a beautiful ceremony on the pier back over at Generations Resort. When I saw Emmitt walk his beautiful mom up the aisle, I couldn’t help but think what that moment will be like with my boys! Emmitt’s mom was beaming with pride and who could blame her? When it was time for Kait to make her entrance, there was this most amazing moment when she and her dad were walking up the aisle. At the same moment that Kait was gazing at the love of her life, Emmitt, Danny was busy staring at the love of his life, Kait’s mom, Diana. This moment really struck me because if there are any two things that make my heart soar, it is brand new love and then the love that endures for many years. I’m sure that if there was a picture of Danny looking at Diana when she walked down the aisle years ago, it was probably the same adoring look on his face. Kait and Emmitt shared personally written vows that were heartfelt and real and I believe there were promises of endless ranch dressing!
After the ceremony wrapped up, we headed out for more pictures before everyone was introduced into the reception at the amazing Sky Deck on the rooftop of Generations. What an AMAZING backdrop for a super awesome reception! Kait and Emmit were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Terrell for the first time and then enjoyed their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. before two emotional parent dances. The dances were followed by toasts from members of the wedding party which were then followed by the most heartfelt Father of the Bride speech I have had the pleasure of witnessing. Danny told Diana that he had a lot to say and as you can see from the pictures, he talked the sun all the way down but it was AMAZING!! There were lots of wet eyes on that rooftop!
Once the party got started, they THREW IT DOWN!! There was dancing, there were shots, there were balloons, there was a bare chest parade, there was the most epic flamingo suit that was passed around from man to man but most importantly, there was a lot of LOVE shared between all of the people there!!
The whole wedding weekend was spectacular! Kait and Emmitt and their family and friends treated us like family and welcomed us to all of the events planned, from the welcome bonfire on the beach the night before the wedding to the super fun pool party the day after the wedding! We had so much fun with everyone that I left that trip wishing there would be an occasion to hang out with everyone again! We were truly lucky to get this experience and we couldn’t be more grateful!! We wish Kait and Emmitt a lifetime of happiness together!!
