Meredith and Cole are seriously the sweetest! Like the saaaaah- weetest!! When Dave and I met them at their engagement session, we talked about how well suited they are for each other and that they have the most tender way of looking and interacting with each other. We were so excited to start off our wedding season with their wedding at the Highgrove. It was an absolutely gorgeous spring day and Meredith was positively glowing! We were honored to be a part of it!

Meredith and Cole, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your big day! It was such a pleasure working with you both and we hope to work with you again in the future! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Dave and I had the pleasure of traveling down to Oak Island the first weekend in March to photograph Megan and Alan’s engagement session! We had been looking forward to this session for a long time and we so enjoyed our time getting to know Megan and Alan a bit better before their wedding at Highgrove next month. Megan and Alan were so cute during their session and I loved to see how easily they laugh together! You can really tell that they are best friends, and Dave and I know from experience that being married to your best friend is the BEST!! Enjoy a few from our time on Oak Island!

Laura Helen’s brother was serving over seas last year and was supposed to be home a few days before the wedding, but unfortunately his travel schedule was changed at the last minute and was not able to make it home in time. I knew that Laura Helen was heartbroken that her brother couldn’t be there so I was absolutely tickled when I saw that someone had made a life-size cutout of him in his tuxedo t-shirt with beer in hand so that he could be there taking part in the celebration. If you look closely through the pictures, you will see him hanging out in the background. It’s like a game of Where’s Waldo! I was cracking up as people kept grabbing her brother and taking him on a spin around the dance floor!

Next up, I loved all of the wedding details that were created around the fact that Laura Helen and Scott had just become Mr. and Mrs. Murray. Some of the details included personalized cups that said “Eat, Drink, and be Murray’d” and the sign on the back of their getaway car that said “Just Murray’d”. LOVED IT!

Finally, my absolute favorite thing about the wedding was what occurred in lieu of a father daughter dance. Because Laura Helen’s dad was not able to dance with her on her wedding day, he gave her the most incredible gift. Laura Helen’s dad had written and sung a song to her mother on their own wedding day. I don’t believe there was a dry eye in the house when her dad then read the lyrics of that same song to Laura Helen and Scott on their own wedding day! It was so touching that I had a hard time holding back tears while I photographed it. One of my most favorite things about that moment, was the look on Laura Helen’s mom’s face as she stood by her husband while he was reading. The look of adoration on her face as she gazed at her daughter was absolutely breathtaking.
