Emily + Michael | Chapel Hill, NC Engagement Portraits

Two songs come to mind when I think of Emily and Michael for some reason. Carolina Girl and Brown Eyed Girl. I am not sure why but they do. I don’t know if it is because we shot the engagement session on UNC’s campus or if it is because of Emily’s brownish-greenish eyes, or just that Emily and Michael are just a sweet southern couple but I hummed those two songs the ENTIRE time I was editing the session. It was really funny! Emily and Michael are getting married in March 2012 at a really cool new wedding venue in Winston-Salem called Winmock at Kinderton. We can’t wait! I am sure it is going to be stunning!

This blog post is a bit late due to the early arrival of our second son. Paula and Matt were so completely understanding of the delay on their wedding pictures when our son, Lochlan, decided to make his grand entrance a week earlier than anticipated. Paula and Matt’s wedding was my last wedding to shoot while I was VERY large and pregnant and I had every intention of completing the editing before Lochlan’s scheduled delivery, however, it was definitely a lesson in that things don’t always go quite as you plan! Thank you so much to Paula and Matt for being understanding! Paula and Matt were married at the University United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill NC and held their reception at the Carolina Club on UNC’s campus. It was a beautiful day and the weather held out for us right until the reception began so it was perfect! Paula and Matt were a joy to work with we were honored to be a part of your big day!

Anne Marie and Dan were gracious enough to allow me to second shoot for another local photographer, Christi Standley, so that I could get some experience shooting weddings. They were such a cute couple with amazing friends and family and they were a pleasure to photograph!
