Prepare yourselves for some serious cuteness!! Alex and Aiden were born at the beginning of the year and I was lucky enough to get to take their newborn portraits. When you photograph newborns, especially in their birthday suits, it is highly likely and probable that you will get pottied on… sometimes numerous times in numerous ways! I figured that with photographing twins, I would get double the “presents” but I was lucky enough to walk away with only one “sprinkle”. It was a good day! Haha! It took a little while to get Alex and Aiden to get into that deep, warm, and snuggly sleep that is perfect for portraits, but with a little patience we got there and I am love how they turned out!

We will be offering a 1-2 hour session at the location of your choice and a high resolution DVD of all of the edited images from the session (minimum of 25) for $400!! This deal will only be available to the first 8 clients that contact me and pay for the session. Starting at midnight on Monday morning, you can email tara@taraparkerphotography.com to reserve your session. I will then respond to let you know if you received one of the 8 spots and will send you an E-invoice so that you may pay for your session and DVD with a credit or debit card. All sessions must take place within January 2011 and April 2011 and must take place within 30 miles of Holly Springs, NC. We are available for travel but travel fees will be applied. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers who are reading this post this evening! I hope that your days were calm, restful, lots of fun with a lack of stress! My second Mother’s Day started at 430 this morning with a run to the ER with Griffin. Add to that a doctor who proceeds to tell us that he thinks that our child who is running a 203.4 degree temperature has Kawasaki’s disease BEFORE running any sort of tests…. and it makes for the beginning of a lovely Mother’s Day!! Needless to say, the doctor was wrong and caused us an unnecessary three hours of worrying during which three nurses had to hold my 19-month old son down to take his blood. Yeah… thanks Doc.

During those three scary hours, I thought a lot about being a mother. I thought a lot about all of the time I waste in my life doing things that don’t really matter, when I could be spending more time with my son. I thought about all of the things I stress about on a daily basis when I should be thankful for every second I have with my family and I should make an effort to enjoy every single second of it. Life is so short. My life is so busy. I need more time. I need more time with my son. I need to cherish these years as they are already passing so quickly. I don’t think that I have ever felt the sense of relief I felt when the doctor on the next shift came in and told us that Griffin’s blood panel was fine and that it must just be a virus. Even though it was a HORRIBLE way to start off Mother’s Day, I am thankful because it made me so thankful to be a mother to the most beautiful boy in the world and it caused me to re-evaluate my priorities.

With that said, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful mothers! Enjoy EVERY second! The moments pass so quickly and you never know when life can happen and everything changes in an instant. In honor of capturing and treasuring memories, I would like to offer a $50 print credit to all mother’s who book a session for their children before the end of the month. Email me for details!

Griffin’s First Easter Egg Hunt! | NC Children’s Photographer

The G-man attended his very first Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday before I went to shoot a wedding. He was not as thrilled about the experience as we thought that he would be! Haha! The picture on the left below says it all! “You what me to do what with the eggs, Ma? Really? Reaaaaally?” As we sat and waited with all of the big kids, I seriously contemplated whether we needed to head home because he just looked miserable! He was so pitiful!

When the three and under crowd was given the whistle, off he went with determination. If the picture below on the left could have a caption, it would be “Prepare yourselves little plastic Easter eggs! You are about to be hunted by the Griffinator!!”

After a few eggs, Griffin aborted the hunt for more fun endeavors…….

(I know that the last picture is unfocused, but I don’t care because he just looks so happy!! And besides…. it is my blog and I can post unfocused pictures if I want to!) :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Maybe Griffin’s hunting experience will be a bit more joyous next year! Haha!
