Dave and I took a couple of months off from weddings so that we could enjoy our time after our second son was born but I have to admit, it was so nice to get back into the swing of things and we couldn’t have had a better wedding to do that with than Ashley and Matt’s! We met Ashley and Matt briefly at a bridal show in Wilmington last fall but they had already had their engagement pictures taken so their wedding day was the first time that we really got to interact with them. You couldn’t ask for a sweeter couple! I only wish that we could have been able to work with them longer so we could get to know them better! We started the day at the salon with Ashley and her maid of honor where they were getting their hair and makeup done. Then after every one got ready at the Hilton, they boarded the Wilmington Trolley and headed to the church for a beautiful ceremony followed by the traditional saber ceremony welcoming Ashley to life with the Marines. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and we couldn’t have been more thankful to be a part of it!

Cyber Monday Sale!!

Are you newly engaged or do you and your husband want to take those couple’s portraits you always wanted to take? We will be hosting a Cyber Monday Sale on this coming Monday ! We will be offering a 1-2 hour session at the location of your choice and a high resolution DVD of all of the edited images from the session (minimum of 25) for $400!! This deal will only be available to the first 8 clients that contact me and pay for the session. Starting at midnight on Monday morning, you can email tara@taraparkerphotography.com to reserve your session. I will then respond to let you know if you received one of the 8 spots and will send you an E-invoice so that you may pay for your session and DVD with a credit or debit card. All sessions must take place within January 2011 and April 2011 and must take place within 30 miles of Holly Springs, NC. We are available for travel but travel fees will be applied. Amanda | Wilmington, NC Bridal Portraits

Back in July, I had the privilege of photographing Amanda’s bridal portraits. Amanda had told me about her dress previously, however I was not prepared for the AMAZINGLY STUNNING Vera Wang gown that she chose! It was absolutely breathtaking, but not as breathtaking as the bride that was in it! Amanda is probably one of the sweetest brides I have ever had the pleasure of working with! She is the epitome of southern charm! Amanda married her soulmate this weekend at the beautiful Dudley Mansion in Wilmington, NC so I am so excited that I can finally share her bridal portraits!

Amanda, you were even more beautiful on the wedding day! I can’t wait to share the photographs from the big day! Thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Amanda + Chad | Fairmont, NC Engagement Portraits

Last month, Dave and I had the pleasure of traveling to Fairmont, NC to meet Amanda and Chad for their engagement session. Amanda and I had only communicated by email prior to the session and through the whole process of booking their wedding so I wasn’t sure what or who to expect when we arrived as to what kind of personalities were in store. Amanda and Chad had to be the cutest couple EVER, inside and out! Sweet would not even begin to describe Amanda and Chad was just as laid back as can be! They both had dimples that went on for days and for anyone who knows me well…. dimples are MY FAV!!! We shot in Fairmont, NC on a farm that belonged to one of their family friends. Amanda and Chad were a little nervous about what they should be doing at first, but they quickly loosened up started to just be themselves and love on each other and I think that we captured some really sweet images of two of them together. Although we had to battle some WICKED poison ivy at our first location, I am glad that we took the risk because I think that there is something so magical about the pictures of them in the woods.

I love this next picture because every time I look at it, I see a heart formed by their heads! Do you see it too? LOVE IT!

These next few pictures remind me of that older country song (Yes, I can’t believe I am about to quote a country song! Ha!) where the lyrics are “You and me goin’ fishin’ in the dark, lying in the grass and counting the stars, where the cool grass grows…”. I think was singing that song out loud the whole time I was editing these pictures! While Amanda and Chad were laying and enjoying one another, the dragonflies were curious to see what was going on. Dave did an AMAZING job of capturing them in flight in a few of the following pictures! Dave, I am so proud of your innate photographic skills! And jealous all at the same time!

We had so much fun on this shoot and it was so nice to finally meet Amanda and Chad! We are so excited to be shooting their wedding day in September. Won’t Amanda just be the most gorgeous bride?!
